3. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using our Website, tools, cafés, pop-ups, events, or services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please stop using our services.
Updates: We may update these terms occasionally. Continued use of our services means you accept the updated version. We aim to show important changes clearly on this page.
4. What We Offer (and What We Do Not)
HRE4U provides information, calm spaces, peer-style support, and gentle signposting.
We do not provide medical care, counselling, therapy, clinical assessment, diagnosis, crisis intervention, legal advice, or emergency services.
Using HRE4U does not create a doctor-patient, therapist-client, lawyer-client, or other professional relationship.
5. No Medical, Legal, Financial, or Crisis Advice
Everything we share is for general information and support only. Nothing on our Website or in our spaces should be treated as medical, therapeutic, emergency, legal, or financial advice.
- Health: Always speak to a qualified doctor or mental health professional for personal medical concerns.
- Legal: For legal matters, please speak to a qualified solicitor.
- Money and practical support: We can share general information and signpost trusted organisations, but we do not provide financial advice.
- Emergencies: We are not an emergency service. If you or someone else is at immediate risk, call 999 (UK) or your local emergency number.
- First Aid: Any first aid or self-help guidance we share is general and not a substitute for professional care.
By using HRE4U, you accept responsibility for your own choices and actions.
6. Age & Location
HRE4U is an adult-focused service. Our Website, tools, cafés, pop-ups, and support spaces are designed for people aged 18 or over.
We are UK-based and our content is designed mainly for the UK. People outside the UK can access the Website at their own discretion and must follow local laws.
If we create any support for under-18s in future, it will be delivered as a separate service with its own safeguarding policy and clear boundaries.
We do not provide emotional or crisis support to children or young people. In rare and exceptional circumstances, a child may be present with a parent or guardian, but remains the responsibility of that adult at all times.
7. User Accounts
Some tools allow you to save information (for example, trackers or personalised features). To use those saved features, you may need an account.
If you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information and keep your login details safe. You are responsible for any activity carried out through your account.
Your password is securely hashed and cannot be viewed by anyone, including the HRE4U team.
You may delete your account at any time. We delete everything we are able to when an account is deleted.
For more details on how we handle data, see our Privacy Policy.
Where you choose to sign up to our newsletter or updates, you are giving permission for us to contact you by email with relevant information about HRE4U CIC. This may include updates, events, new resources, or ways to get involved.
Signing up to our newsletter is optional and separate from using our services. You will only receive emails where you have actively chosen to opt in.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link provided in our emails.
We manage our newsletter system in-house and do not sell or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.
8. Chat & Community Features
Some parts of HRE4U may offer chat or community interaction now or in the future. These features are intended for gentle peer support.
- moderated where possible, within clear volunteer boundaries
- not monitored 24/7
- not a crisis service
- we do not keep long-term chat transcripts for profiling or tracking
We may use anonymous, internal usage data (for example: what was searched, when, whether results were found, and what was clicked) to improve tools and content. We do not use third-party tracking for this.
Users must behave respectfully. Harmful, abusive, sexual harassment, threatening behaviour, or attempts to misuse the platform may result in removal from the service, suspension, or banning.
Volunteers supporting HRE4U CIC act within agreed roles and boundaries. Personal views shared by volunteers do not necessarily reflect the views of HRE4U CIC.
9. Safety, Confidentiality, and Safeguarding
We aim to create spaces that feel safe, respectful, and supportive.
We respect privacy and handle information with care. However, confidentiality has limits. If we believe there is a serious and immediate risk of harm to you or someone else, we may need to take steps to protect safety. This could include contacting emergency services or appropriate safeguarding bodies.
We are not a crisis or emergency service. We do not actively monitor all content in real time and cannot guarantee instant responses.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact emergency services (999 in the UK) straight away.
For full details, please see our Safeguarding Policy.
10. Cafés, Pop-Ups, and In-Person Spaces
HRE4U cafés and pop-ups are calm, community-based spaces. Attendance is voluntary, and you can leave at any time.
If we believe there is an immediate safeguarding risk, we may ask you to stay briefly while we seek help. You remain free to leave, and we do not detain people.
We do not provide medical treatment, transport, home visits, or outreach support. We do not provide physical support or touch without clear, expressed, witnessed verbal consent, and it is not advised as a general practice.
People who are intoxicated may be supported if they are able to keep themselves safe and are not a danger to others. If safety cannot be maintained, we may ask someone to leave or end a session early.
Animals may be permitted depending on the space and the comfort and safety of those present, including allergies. We reserve the right to restrict or refuse animals where needed.
We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings.
We may occasionally take photographs or media in our café or pop-up spaces for use on our website, social media, and promotional materials.
Most photos focus on the space itself (for example communal areas, tables, or general atmosphere) rather than individuals.
Where a photo or recording may include identifiable individuals, we will always aim to ask for permission beforehand. You can also let us know at any time if you would prefer not to be included, and we will respect your choice.
If you later see an image of yourself that you are not comfortable with or would like removed, please contact us and we will remove it where reasonably possible.
Where you book or attend an event, we may collect limited information such as your name, email address, postcode, and the names of any additional attendees.
This information is used to manage bookings, confirm attendance, and contact you with relevant updates about the event.
Some events are funded for specific local areas (for example Liverpool and Sefton). Where this applies, we use postcode information only to confirm eligibility. In most cases, this means checking that the postcode begins with the letter “L”.
We only collect the information necessary to run events safely and fairly. We do not use event booking data for unrelated marketing unless you have separately chosen to opt in to our newsletter.
If you provide details for additional attendees, you confirm that you have their permission to share this information with us for the purpose of managing the booking.
We may keep a record of event attendance and booking information. Where required for funding, reporting, or auditing purposes, we may share limited information with funders or partner organisations. This will only be done where appropriate and necessary, and in line with our data protection responsibilities.
For full details on how we store, use, and protect personal data, please see our Privacy Policy.
11. Tools, Downloads, and Physical Items
We may provide tools, downloads, printed resources, grounding cards, and other supportive items. These are offered for general support and guidance only.
You are responsible for how you use anything we provide. We are not responsible for harm caused by misuse, modification, or use outside our guidance.
12. Wi-Fi, Charging, Devices, and Printing
In our spaces we may offer Wi-Fi, charging points, power banks, tablets, or printer access as a convenience.
These are used at your own risk. You are responsible for your own logins, accounts, and personal data when using shared equipment.
We do not monitor usage in a technical tracking sense. However, volunteers may keep an eye on what is being printed or accessed where needed to protect safety, safeguarding, or legality.
Illegal use of Wi-Fi, devices, or equipment, or any unsafe behaviour, may result in removal from the service.
13. Donations & Payments
If you choose to support HRE4U CIC financially, payments are processed securely by trusted third-party payment providers (for example Stripe, PayPal, or GoFundMe). We do not store or have access to your full card or payment details.
A donation is only considered complete once payment has been successfully processed by the payment provider. If a payment fails, is declined, or is interrupted, no donation is recorded.
Donations must be made by individuals aged 18 or over.
Donations are normally non-refundable. However, we may offer refunds where required by law or where a genuine mistake has occurred (for example duplicate payments, incorrect amounts, or technical errors). Refund requests are considered on a case-by-case basis.
If you choose to provide a name or message when donating, you give us permission to use that name for public thank-you messages or sponsorship recognition (for example on our website, social media, or in physical spaces), unless you choose to remain anonymous.
If you later change your mind, we will remove or anonymise public name credits where reasonably possible.
We may receive limited information from payment providers (for example confirmation that a donation has been made, the amount, and any name or message you choose to provide). We do not sell donor data.
For more information about how we handle personal data, please see our Privacy Policy.

Some pages may include affiliate links (for example Amazon). If you use them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
Our online shop is hosted by Shopify. Shopify provides the e-commerce platform that allows us to display products and process orders securely. Any information you enter while using the shop is handled under Shopify’s own terms, privacy policy, and security procedures.
We do not store or have access to your full payment details. Payments made through the shop are processed directly by Shopify and their partnered payment providers.
Your use of the shop is also subject to Shopify’s terms and privacy policy.
15. Third-Party Websites and Services
We may link to external organisations, services, and helplines. We provide these links in good faith, but we are not affiliated with those services unless clearly stated.
We are not responsible for the content, advice, accuracy, privacy policies, or actions of any third-party service. Any help or guidance provided by external organisations is their responsibility, not ours.
16. Sharing and Using Our Content
You are welcome to save, screenshot, print, and share our Materials for personal support and non-commercial use.
If you want to use our Materials commercially, please credit HRE4U CIC clearly, and do not present our work as your own. If you are unsure, contact us and we will usually try to be helpful.
Linking to our pages is always welcome. Please do not republish or embed our tools or pages in a way that makes it look like they are part of another website.
17. User-Generated Content and Behaviour
Where users contribute content in any interactive areas (for example chat features), the views expressed are their own.
We may remove content, restrict access, or ban users if behaviour is abusive, harmful, threatening, sexually harassing, illegal, or puts others at risk.
18. Disclaimer & Liability
- We do our best to keep information accurate and helpful, but we cannot guarantee completeness, accuracy, or reliability.
- We do not guarantee outcomes or results from using HRE4U.
- You use our Website, tools, and spaces at your own discretion.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss, harm, or damages resulting from misuse of our services, tools, Materials, Wi-Fi, devices, or spaces.
- We are not responsible for downtime, bugs, or temporary unavailability of the Website or any feature.
19. Security
We use reasonable security practices to protect our systems, but no online system is completely secure. Please use your own virus protection and browse safely.
You must not attempt to disrupt, hack, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or misuse our Website or systems. We may restrict access and take further action where appropriate.
20. Governing Law
These terms are governed by UK law. Any disputes will be handled by UK courts.
21. Severability
If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest will continue to apply.
22. Contact Us
If you have any questions about these Terms & Conditions, you can reach us through the contact page or email us at hello@hre4u.co.uk.
23. Complaints
We aim to provide clear, supportive, and accurate information. If you are unhappy with any part of HRE4U or your experience with us, you can make a complaint.
You can contact us by:
- using the form on our contact page
- emailing complaints@hre4u.co.uk
We take complaints seriously and will do our best to respond promptly. If a matter cannot be resolved informally, we may ask for more details so we can look into it fully.
24. Raffles, Lotteries, Competitions and Prize Draws
HRE4U CIC occasionally runs raffles, lotteries, competitions, prize draws, and similar fundraising activities to support our community work. By entering, you agree to the rules set out below. Entries are open to people aged 16 or over only.
Where an activity is run as a lottery, it is operated under HRE4U CIC’s Small Society Lottery licence and in accordance with relevant legislation and local authority guidance.
Raffles, lotteries, and similar fundraising activities may be run online, in person at stalls or events, or using a combination of both.
Unless clearly stated otherwise, raffles and lotteries run online and raffles or tombolas run in person are treated as separate activities with separate draws.
Where a raffle or lottery is explicitly advertised as being available both online and in person as part of the same activity, all valid paid entries will be combined into a single draw. Tickets sold online and tickets sold in person are treated equally and have the same chance of winning.
Entry and payment
Paid entry only: Entries are only valid once the ticket price stated for that raffle or lottery has been paid in full before the advertised closing date and time.
Tickets or entries submitted without payment, or where payment is received after the advertised closing date and time, will not be accepted.
All tickets for a particular raffle or lottery are sold at the same price. Purchasing multiple tickets increases the number of entries but does not change the price per ticket.
Unless otherwise stated, there is no limit on the number of paid entries an individual may purchase.
Upon successful payment, entrants receive an automated confirmation email confirming their entry and any ticket numbers assigned. Ticket numbers are generated automatically and cannot be chosen, reserved, or influenced.
In some circumstances, HRE4U CIC may manually add entries to a raffle on behalf of an entrant. This may include, for example, transferring entries from a cancelled raffle or resolving an administrative issue. Any such entries are recorded in the same system and treated exactly the same as paid entries.
Lottery and raffle formats
All HRE4U CIC raffles and lotteries are chance-based. Winners are selected at random from all valid entries received before the closing date and time.
Where numbered entries are used, ticket numbers are generated sequentially at the point of entry and entered into the draw automatically.
Entries are created only after payment is successfully completed or where an entry has been manually added by HRE4U CIC. There are no pre-generated or unsold tickets where a raffle or lottery is limited by time rather than by a fixed number of entries.
Closing dates, extensions, and cancellation
Raffles and lotteries normally close at the advertised closing date and time.
HRE4U CIC may extend a raffle or lottery where entry levels are low or where doing so is considered fairer to participants. Where a raffle is extended, existing entries remain valid and entrants may be notified of the updated closing date.
In rare cases, a raffle or lottery may be cancelled. If this happens, affected entrants will be informed and any payments made will be refunded or otherwise resolved in a fair and transparent way.
HRE4U CIC reserves the right to close a raffle or lottery early and bring forward the draw date where it is considered fair, reasonable, or necessary for the effective running of the activity. In such cases, all valid entries received up to the revised closing time will be included in the draw, and no further entries will be accepted after that point.
Winner selection and contact
Winners are selected using a fair and transparent random draw.
Winners will be contacted using the contact details provided at the point of entry, usually by email.
Reasonable attempts will be made to contact winners, normally within a 24-hour period. Where a winner does not respond, a follow-up contact may be sent.
If a winner does not respond within a reasonable timeframe after follow-up, the prize may be marked as forfeited. Prizes are not reallocated to other entrants.
Winners may contact HRE4U CIC directly if they believe they have won or have not received notification. Queries can be directed to raffles@hre4u.co.uk.
Prizes and delivery
Many prizes are donated by individuals or organisations in support of HRE4U CIC. Donated prizes are provided as described at the time of the raffle or lottery.
Prize donors are not responsible for delivery, postage, or any arrangements after a prize has been awarded. All prize fulfilment is coordinated by HRE4U CIC.
Some prizes may be digital and delivered electronically. Other prizes may be physical items.
Where a prize is a physical item, collection in person is always permitted. Free local delivery may be offered within Liverpool and Sefton.
Where delivery is required outside this area, postage costs may be the responsibility of the winner unless explicitly stated otherwise. In some cases, HRE4U CIC may choose to cover postage at its discretion.
Cash is not offered as a prize unless explicitly stated. Entry into a raffle or lottery does not guarantee a prize.
Data protection
Personal details are used only to administer raffles and lotteries, contact winners, and meet legal obligations. For more information, please see our Privacy Policy.
All raffles, lotteries, competitions, and prize draws are run by or on behalf of HRE4U CIC, company number 16856183.
25. Skill-Based Competitions
From time to time, HRE4U CIC may run skill-based competitions where winners are selected based on merit rather than chance. These competitions are separate from raffles and lotteries and are not governed by random draws.
Where a skill-based competition is run, the specific rules, judging criteria, and entry requirements will be clearly stated for that competition at the time it is advertised.
Judging and fairness
Entries to skill-based competitions are judged against pre-defined criteria, which may include factors such as creativity, effort, originality, or clarity, depending on the nature of the competition.
Judging criteria are set in advance and applied consistently to all valid entries. Where possible, entries may be judged anonymously to reduce bias.
Judging may be carried out by a named individual, a member of the HRE4U CIC team, or a small panel. The judging approach will be explained as part of the competition details.
In the event of a tie, the method for selecting a winner will be stated in advance and may include a further round of judging, a decision by consensus, or another fair method appropriate to the competition.
Entry and prizes
Where an entry fee applies to a skill-based competition, this will be clearly stated in advance. Entry into a skill-based competition does not guarantee a prize.
Prizes may be provided by HRE4U CIC or donated by third parties. Prize details, delivery arrangements, and any alternatives will be explained as part of the competition information.
26. Auctions
From time to time, HRE4U CIC may run auctions as part of its fundraising activities. Auctions are separate from raffles, lotteries, and skill-based competitions.
In an auction, the winner is the person who places the highest valid bid before the advertised closing time.
Bidding
Bids may be placed online, in person, or using another method specified at the time of the auction. All bids must be made in accordance with the instructions provided.
All bids are binding. By placing a bid, you are committing to pay the amount bid if you are the winning bidder.
Bids must be placed before the advertised closing time to be considered valid. Late bids will not be accepted.
Winning bids and payment
The highest valid bid at the closing time will be declared the winning bid.
The winning bidder will be contacted using the details provided at the time of bidding. Payment must be made within the timeframe stated for that auction.
If the winning bidder does not complete payment within the stated timeframe, HRE4U CIC reserves the right to offer the item to the next highest bidder or to re-run the auction.
Prizes and delivery
Auction items may be donated or provided by HRE4U CIC. Collection, delivery, postage, and alternative arrangements are handled in line with the prize and delivery terms set out elsewhere in these Terms and Conditions.
HRE4U CIC reserves the right to withdraw an item or cancel an auction at any time if necessary. Where this happens, any payments already made will be refunded.
27. Events and External Providers
HRE4U CIC occasionally hosts or facilitates events, workshops, and sessions delivered by external providers. These sessions are intended to offer supportive, wellbeing-focused experiences within a calm and community-based environment.
External providers are responsible for their own sessions, including how they are delivered and any guidance, instruction, or support provided.
We require external providers to confirm that they hold appropriate public liability insurance. We do not independently verify this and rely on the information provided to us.
HRE4U CIC also holds its own public liability insurance. However, during the delivery of a session, responsibility for the activity sits with the external provider and their insurance for the duration of that session.
By attending a session delivered by an external provider, you understand that the provider is acting independently and is responsible for their own activity. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HRE4U CIC is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in sessions delivered by external providers.
Any views, claims, or statements made by external providers during their sessions are their own and do not necessarily reflect the views of HRE4U CIC. This includes, for example, statements about potential benefits or outcomes of a session.
While we aim to work with providers who offer safe and supportive experiences, we do not independently verify or endorse all claims made, and attendees should use their own judgement when engaging with any advice or guidance shared.
Booking and availability
Event places are limited and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Once all available spaces are filled, no further tickets or places will be issued.
We reserve the right to limit the number of tickets per person where needed to ensure fair access.
Where events are restricted to specific areas, bookings may be limited to individuals with an L postcode. Bookings made using postcodes outside of this area may not be accepted unless a valid L postcode is provided.
We reserve the right to cancel or remove bookings where incorrect or misleading information has been provided.
Repeated non-attendance or cancellations may affect future bookings. This includes situations where a user does not attend or cancels multiple sessions without a reasonable explanation.
In some cases, HRE4U CIC may pay external providers to deliver sessions. Where this applies, we may charge for tickets to attend. Any money raised from these events is used to support the running, delivery, and development of HRE4U CIC.
Attendance and behaviour
You attend events at your own discretion and within your own limits. If you are unsure whether a session is suitable for you, please check with the provider before attending.
Some sessions may involve physical movement, relaxation techniques, or sensory experiences. You are responsible for deciding whether a session is suitable for you and should inform the provider of any relevant health conditions where appropriate.
Most events take place within our regular café sessions. If you need to step out of a session for any reason, a member of the HRE4U team will usually be available in the café space to support you.
However, we cannot guarantee that a separate quiet or private space will be available until the event or session has finished.
Late arrivals are welcome to enter the café space, but may not be able to join or take part in the session once it has started, depending on the nature of the activity.
We expect all attendees to behave respectfully. We reserve the right to refuse entry or ask someone to leave a session if behaviour is disruptive, unsafe, or negatively impacts others.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel bookings at our discretion where we believe it is necessary to protect fairness, safety, or the experience of others.
Attendees are responsible for their personal belongings during events. We are not responsible for loss, theft, or damage.
Photos and media
We may take photographs or media during events for use on our website, social media, and promotional materials.
We will always aim to ask for permission on the day. If you do not wish to be included in any photos or recordings, please let a member of the team know and we will respect your preference.
Changes and cancellations
We may occasionally need to change, reschedule, or cancel an event. Where a provider cancels, we will aim to rearrange the session where possible. If this is not possible, we may attempt to replace the session with an alternative provider.
If a replacement cannot be arranged, the session will be cancelled.
Where HRE4U CIC cancels an event, anyone with a valid booking will be offered a guaranteed place at another event of their choosing, up to the same value as the original ticket, subject to availability.
For paid events, a full refund will be issued where we cancel a session. Refunds are processed automatically where possible. If you believe you have not received a refund, you can contact us and we will resolve it.
Complaints about external providers
If you have a concern or complaint about a session delivered by an external provider, we recommend raising it directly with the provider in the first instance, as they are responsible for their own sessions.
If you are unable to resolve the issue or would prefer to raise it with us, you can contact HRE4U CIC at complaints@hre4u.co.uk.
External providers operate independently and are not employees of or formally affiliated with HRE4U CIC unless clearly stated. While we aim to work with trusted and appropriate organisations, we do not endorse or guarantee the services provided by external providers.
